Netflix subscribers are being urged to watch a must-watch show that has recently been added to the streaming service. Eccy Reviews, who watches and reviews TV shows and movies for a living, often shares his Netflix favourites on social media, has recommended How to Get to Heaven from Belfast.

The eight-part series follows “three lifelong pals W.H.O. embark on a chaotic quest to solve the mystery of their old friend’s suspicious death and keep their own dark secret under wraps.” The show, created by Lisa McGee and featuring Roísín Gallagher, Sinéad Keenan, and Caoilfhionn Dunne, is similar to Derry Girls due to its comedic elements.

In his review, Eccy declared it a must-watch, although he noted the first episode is somewhat slow-paced.

Responding to his video, one viewer said: “I’m watching it right now and I’m obsessed.”

Another commented: “I’ve just finished it all and thought it was brilliant, great links to many Irish programmes.”

A third stated: “Loved Derry Girls so I will watch this over the weekend.”

An additional user remarked: “It’s brilliant. Me and my wife just finished it.”

The series holds a 7.4-star rating on IMDb, with one reviewer writing: “In a world of serial killer documentaries or shows about male-on-female violence, it’s nice to watch funny women being let loose.

“The balance of laugh-out-loud moments with genuine pathos is not an easy thing to land and Lisa McGee has done it beautifully. A ray of sunshine on these dull winter days.”

One viewer expressed: “Was so excited to see this and it has not disappointed. Funny, dark Northern Irish humour, great cast, beautiful Northern Irish locations and an intriguing storyline.

“Loved every episode! It comes from the same writer and creator of Derry Girls and I love that the same talent shines through with this. Hope there is more to come.”

Another reviewer commented: “Clever, fun, suspenseful, creative. Derry Girls was a blast so I’m impressed that the creator had a very different series up her sleeve.

“I don’t understand the snotty negative reviews on here. I guess everyone’s a critic.

“But not everyone can come up with an original idea and create a brilliant story out of it. And cast it, write it, and score it. Very entertaining. Highly recommend.”
