Love Island viewers were “gutted” following a surprise dumping that saw Tommy Bradley exit the villa.

The fan favourite was forced to pack his bags alongside Jessy Potts after a public vote on Friday’s episode of the dating show (February 20), which is presented by Maya Jama. The Islanders had been enjoying a date night when Millie Court received a text revealing that viewers had been casting their votes for the most compatible couple.

Tommy and Jessy received the fewest votes and were subsequently shown the door.

Both had been competing in the All Stars series of the ITV reality show, having previously failed to find lasting romance during earlier stints in the villa.

Tommy had struggled to form any meaningful romantic connections during this series, finding himself in a friendship couple with Leanne Amaning earlier on, reports OK!

He was open about how challenging he was finding his time in the villa, becoming emotional as he confided in pal Jack Keating earlier in the series: “I’m just finding it hard, I’ll be honest.”

Viewers were thrilled when he coupled up with Jessy, though some began to question whether she was genuine in her feelings. As the pair were axed on Friday, many fans admitted they saw it coming but expressed their disappointment at seeing Tommy leave.

“Aww I’m gutted for Tommy,” one viewer posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Another wrote: “Oh nooooo, I’m so shocked. Tommy deserves better tbh.”

Fans rallied behind the contestant, with one writing: “Poor sweet Tommy did not deserve that,” whilst another posted: “Tommy is so pure and kind, I really hope this doesn’t affect him. He has such a bad run in his season and All Stars.”

A further viewer simply stated: “I feel so bad for Tommy.”

Sympathetic viewers rallied behind the contestant, with one writing: “Poor sweet Tommy did not deserve that,” whilst another posted: “Tommy is so pure and kind, I really hope this doesn’t affect him. He has such a bad run in his season and All Stars.”

A further viewer simply stated: “I feel so bad for Tommy.”

After his exit, Tommy said “it was the right decision for me and Jessy to go”.

“The public were voting on compatibility and it’s still early days for us,” he said. “I completely get it and have no hard feelings.”

He also noted that he was “feeling good” about their relationship.

“I’ve only known her for maybe a week and half – days merge into one!” he said. “So I will just take it at my own pace and see what happens with no pressure on the situation. I think she’s a great, lovely, genuine girl. Even my mum said that. That means more than any public poll.”
