Jimmy Kimmel - President Donald Trump - Split - 2025 -

President Donald Trump has hit out at Jimmy Kimmel while handing out medals to the Kennedy Center honorees.

Earlier this year, Trump announced the nominees for the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors after taking over as chairman of the board. Alongside rock band Kiss, Sylvester Stallone, and musician George Strait, Trump gave the nod to British actor and comedian Michael Crawford and singer Gloria Gaynor.

The President hosted the ceremony and took to comparing himself to another show host: the constant public rival, Jimmy Kimmel. He addressed the star-studded audience: “Jimmy Kimmel was horrible, and some of these people.”

He then made the curious remark, “If I can’t beat out Jimmy Kimmel in terms of talent, then I don’t think I should be president.”

He also claimed that he did a better job than the late-night host who presented a tribute to honoree David Letterman in 2012.

“We have never had a president hosting the awards before. This is the first. I’m sure they’ll give me great reviews, right?” Trump mused, referencing the fact that the broadcast will air on December 23rd.

“You know, they’ll say he was horrible. He was terrible. It was a horrible situation. No, we’ll do fine,” he smiled, before adding, “It will be the highest-rated show they’ve ever done.”

Trump’s feud with Kimmel has escalated this year, especially when ABC pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live! from the air for a week following his comment regarding Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

In November, Trump wrote online, “Why does ABC Fake News keep Jimmy Kimmel, a man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS, on the air?”

The feud was also sustained by Kimmel, who hit back at Trump, claiming he “did his best to cancel me”. However, the President wasn’t able to do so, and “instead, he forced millions of people to watch the show”.
