When he joined the show he had two babies on the way

On MAFS Australia 2026, we’ve just been introduced to two new intruder grooms, Chris and Sam. Throughout most of his MAFS wedding day, Chris Robinson was nervous to tell his new groom that he was currently on a surrogacy journey.

The groom decided three years ago that he wanted to start a family. At that time, he wanted to become a single dad. Chris was already an uncle, and felt as though something was missing in his life – children of his own.

On MAFS Australia, Chris said he had two babies on the way, by two different women. He had been a donor for a lesbian couple, and he also had a baby on the way himself, through a surrogate. The couple he has been a donor for are close friends, and his surrogate is a woman in Colombia.

There has been an update in Chris’ surrogacy journey, that was whilst MAFS was filming

There has been an update on both children since. The close friends Chris had been a donor for welcomed a baby girl, in late 2025. She arrived just one day after he married Sam!

“I love her so much and I get really emotional when I talk about her – it’s happening right now, I’ll try to contain it – I just love her so much, she’s got me wrapped around her little finger. It’s the best,” Chris said in an interview.

However, Chris has shared a tragic update on the second child he had on the way. “Unfortunately whilst I was filming, there was a bit of an issue around my surrogate journey,” Chris told PEDESTRIAN.TV. “[We] had a couple of embryos and the surrogate unfortunately lost one of them, so it was a bit of a sad moment.”

This made his journey on the show much more difficult. He added: “The experiment is so tough in itself. You’re dealing with so much and there’s a lot of emotions, so obviously that was pretty hard to process especially in the environment as well. So it’s been tough, but I’ve pushed through it.”
