Carrie Underwood at “Opry 100: A Live Celebration” in March 2025

As a member of the Grand Ole Opry, it’s not too rare that Carrie Underwood might find herself performing there, but when she took the stage in the legendary music venue on Friday, Sept. 12, it was for a very special reason.

This year, the Grand Ole Opry is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and this weekend, Underwood joined up with other musicians including Mandy Barnett and Tyler Braden for a performance celebrating the milestone.

But when Underwood shared photos from her performance on Instagram, fans were totally captivated by her look for the evening.

“Another beautiful night at the @opry!” Underwood wrote in her caption. “Thanks to all who came out this weekend… it was a gift and an honor to play for ya! Until next time…”

Though Underwood has always been known for her platinum blonde locks, here, her hair is a darker, more strawberry blonde look, cascading around her shoulders in big waves. She also wore a shimmery floral gown that fans couldn’t get enough of.

“This hair is everything,” one of Underwood’s followers commented on the post, adding a heart eyes emoji.

Another commenter wrote, “that dress is absolutely stunning!”

Carrie Underwood Was Inducted Into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008

Underwood officially became a member of the Grand Ole Opy on May 10, 2008 — three years after the American Idol win that launched her career.

Looking back on that day in 2024, Taste of Country pointed out that country legend Garth Brooks had been the one to induct Underwood, telling her, “I can’t imagine what you’re feeling right now. I cried like a baby the whole time.”

At her induction, Underwood performed her hit songs “Last Name,” “Jesus Take the Wheel,” and “All American Girl,” though she’s gone on to have plenty more since then!

“I just want to thank everybody at the Opry for having me as a part of your family — because it really seems like a great family to be a part of,” Underwood told the audience that night, adding, “It means a lot to me. I promise that I’ll do everything I possibly can to make you not regret it — and to make you guys not regret it!”
