Wednesday hasn’t been missing from our screens for very long but Netflix has already unveiled a significant update for season three.
It didn’t take too much time before Netflix confirmed that a third instalment of the Addams Family spin-off was in the pipeline, but now the streaming giant has taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce that series three is officially underway.

What’s even more thrilling is the inclusion of a brief teaser featuring Lurch dancing around what seems to be a dinner party setting, with the stars’ names displayed on plates and table place cards.
Naturally, these include Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia and Luis Guzman as Gomez.

However, halfway through the teaser, an extremely exciting name is revealed, introducing none other than Stranger Things icon Winona Ryder to the cast of Wednesday season three.
It is disclosed on a dessert bowl that Ryder will be portraying a character named Tabitha, but further details about her role have not yet been divulged.

She won’t be the only familiar face joining the cast though, as Ryder will be accompanied by Peaky Blinders’ Noah Taylor, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms actor Oscar Morgan, The Princess Bride’s Chris Sarandon and Roofman actor Kennedy Moyer.
Netflix has hinted that there will be even more additions to the cast for the forthcoming third series, which is currently being filmed near Dublin, Ireland.

She will join the cast alongside Eva Green, known for her role in Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, who was previously announced as Morticia Addams’ sister Ophelia.
Ophelia was briefly seen in the final moments of series two, locked up in Grandma Hester Frump’s (Joanna Lumley) basement.

The streaming service has indicated that there will be more “additional details” to be revealed at a later date.
However, it remains unclear how much Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) will feature, as her place card in the teaser is burnt.

Enid was last seen transformed into a werewolf and unable to revert back, but will Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) be able to assist her best friend?

Creators and showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar stated: “It’s our dark delight to fling open Nevermore Academy’s gates once more as we begin production on season three.

“We thank our invincible cast and crew for their continued commitment to doom and gloom.
“To the fans, we appreciate your patience and ravenous online commentary – your twisted theories have inspired nightmares.

“This season we welcome new students, new teachers, and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets. Don’t say you weren’t warned.”
Wednesday is available to watch on Netflix.
