Meghan Markle’s advice for Lilibet and Archie

The Duchess of Sussex looks to be trying her best to usher Archie and Lilibet down their own paths.

The young prince and princess already have a prince to look up to, as well as a family of royals.

Meghan was known for her acting career before she met Harry. Now, she is a businesswoman, founder of luxury lifestyle brand As Ever and the star of her own Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.

Her experience means Meghan is eager for Archie and Lilibet to try out new things and grow their own way. Especially, when it comes to sport.

During the recent Christmas special edition of With Love Meghan, which dropped on Netflix on December 3, Meghan was joined by Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka.

The duo were seen crafting, writing on plates with special ceramic pens, during one segment.

There, Meghan opened up about a part of her past that was “painful”…

Meghan Markle’s struggle

Whilst sharing her thoughts, she also explained how she thinks it is important for Archie and Lilibet to try new things.

“I think it’s always important to always try things we’re not so great at, which I should remind myself of when I try to draw or get on a tennis court,” Meghan said.

She then confessed: “I am so painfully bad.”

Meghan went on to admit: “My mom found an old report card of mine, and in the physical education part [where it read] ‘ability to throw or catch a ball [it said] not applicable’. They couldn’t even give me a grade.”

Prince Harry and Prince Archie’s shared passion

Already, Prince Archie is demonstrating how he isn’t following in his mother’s footsteps. Aged just six, Archie already belongs to a football school near the Sussexes home in Montecito.

Like his father, he is also said to be learning to surf.

Meghan seems to be very encouraging of this passion shared between Archie and Harry.

In August, Meghan shared a clip of Harry showing off his surfing skills at Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch.

And apparently, Archie’s willingness to try something new is a really good sign for his future, according to Chair of the Association of Play Industries and Founder of FUNdamentally Children, Dr. Amanda Gummer.

She told Hello!: “It builds resilience, as learning to surf involves a lot of falling off and getting back up again. Children feel a real sense of achievement when they catch a wave, which can do wonders for their confidence.”

“If a child chooses a solo sport like surfing, it often means they enjoy their own company and are comfortable setting personal challenges. Surfing can help children develop independence, patience, and self-motivation.”
