Meghan Markle has lost yet another publicist, with her latest hire quitting just three months into the job. Emily Robinson, a former senior director of publicity at Netflix, left this month, it has been reported.

Ms Robinson became, in June, the tenth person to have been hired as the Duchess of Sussex’s publicist in just five years. The decision to hire Ms Robinson had been somewhat controversial, as the publicist had worked on Netflix’s The Crown, a show which had left some royal fans and commentators upset for airing damaging narratives about the Royal Family.

Meghan’s director of communications, however, left the Sussex team earlier this month, the Daily Mail reports.

A close friend of Emily, who built up a reputation as a “tough cookie” at Netflix, revealed that it was her own personal decision to step down from the role alongside Meghan.

They said: “It was her decision. She left a few weeks ago. She’s not a quitter, so things must have been pretty horrible for her to go”.

Ms Robinson’s LinkedIn page currently doesn’t have any reference that she worked with Meghan, but does detail other previous roles that she has held.

Those remaining on the Sussex team include Liam Maguire, the director of communications in Europe, and Meredith Maines, the couple’s chief communications officer.

Meredith met with the King’s press secretary, Tobyn Andreae, earlier this summer. This encounter is thought to have help bring together the meeting between the King and Harry.

A representative of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told the Express: “Ms. Robinson oversaw project-based work for a very successful season of With Love, Meghan and additional support for the production company. She did an excellent job and completed these projects with great success.”
