The top three finishers in the Las Vegas Grand Prix were ferried to the podium ceremony in style after climbing into the back of a 1950s Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special – made out of LEGO bricks. The full-sized bright pink car has been present in the paddock throughout the race weekend, homed in the F1 Neon Chapel.
While the impressive construction has drawn plenty of admiring glances, few would have known that the five metre long, two tonne car was fitted with a motor and working lights, in preparation for its use as the ‘cool down car’ after the race.
Since the first Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023, the traditional format, where the top-three drivers visit the cool down room before the podium ceremony, has not been used. Instead, they have been ferried to the Bellagio Fountains on the Las Vegas Strip by car for post-race interviews, before then being escorted back to the grid for the podium.
The same procedure took place this year and F1 sponsor LEGO took the opportunity to play a part in the process by using more than 418,000 plastic bricks to build the pink Cadillac, driven by Hollywood actor and former NFL player Terry Crews.

It was the latest in a string of high-profile stunts pulled off by LEGO this year, the first of which took place at the Miami Grand Prix when F1 stars took part in the drivers’ parade by driving LEGO replicas of their F1 cars, which turned into a competitive mini-race when some racers chose to ram their rivals, causing damage to some of the plastic cars.
At the British Grand Prix in July, the trophies presented to the top three drivers were all made out of LEGO bricks. And, in Las Vegas earlier this week, the company confirmed its new partnership with the all-female F1 Academy series which includes entering its own team for the 2026 season.

LEGO chief product and marketing officer Julia Goldin said: “Together with Formula 1, at the Las Vegas Grand Prix we capped off a year of unforgettable moments that bring fans a new dimension to the way they experience F1.
“Throughout the year we brought fans closer to Grand Prix experiences and the sport of Formula 1, and this year in Las Vegas was no different, from our incredible LEGO brick-built Cadillac car, to activating on Sphere’s iconic Exosphere with new and engaging content, and sharing the next step in our partnership with F1 ACADEMY with the world – the 2025 calendar has been incredible, and we can’t wait for what’s to come in 2026.”
