I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked host Kemi Rodgers has announced her engagement to boyfriend Thomas Hannett after he proposed during their trip to Australia

Kemi Rodgers, the host of I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked, has shared the joyous news that she is engaged to her boyfriend Thomas Hannett, who popped the question during a trip to Australia.

The 30 year old radio presenter announced the exciting news over the weekend, sharing a series of snaps on Instagram showcasing her engagement ring.

One photo sees Kemi beaming as she displays her hand, while another captures the couple savouring their time in Australia.

Kemi, who co-hosts Unpacked with Joel Dommett, was in Australia for the duration of the series, which ran from 19 November to 7 December, culminating with YouTube star Angryginge winning the title.

She captioned the post: “I said yes.”

Friends and celebrity colleagues were quick to inundate the comments with congratulatory messages. Coronation Street actor Colson Smith penned: “Congratulations Kemi!”, reports the Mirror.

Capital FM star and This Morning host Sian Welby expressed her excitement, posting: “OMGGGG INCREDIBLE.”

Former X Factor contestant Sam Lavery chimed in: “OMG YESSSSS.”

While Capital FM presenter Jordan North also shared his delight, commenting: “OMG! Congratulations guys.”

Thomas, who holds a senior producer role at Capital, and Kemi’s engagement comes just weeks after she disclosed that they had been dating for over a year.

The couple only made their relationship public in September, when they posted photos from a romantic getaway to Paris.

At the time, Kemi revealed they had opted to keep their relationship under wraps before making their public debut as a couple.

In a brief video posted on her Instagram account, Kemi and Thomas were spotted in Paris enjoying a beverage at a casual restaurant whilst soaking up the sunshine.

They utilised the popular TikTok audio clip featuring someone asking: “Are you happy to be in Paris?”, which Thomas mimed along to before Kemi, 30, responded: “Oui.”

In her caption, she penned: “Wine drunk in paris and thought the best way to hard launch my boyfriend on the grid was with the iconic nicki minaj ‘oui’ video loooooool.”

She continued: “Full bottle of sancerre in the sun truly is the key to my heart.”

Mates and followers were thrilled by the announcement and flooded the comment section with congratulations for the couple. One friend commented: “The hard launch we’ve all been waiting for,” whilst another remarked: “Finally.”

Last year, Kemi teamed up with Sam Thompson and Joel Dommett to present an I’m A Celebrity spin-off programme called Unpacked, four years after the companion show Extra Camp was cancelled.
