eghan Markle once had a relatable response to Beyoncé sending her a text.

The moment the Duchess of Sussex, 44, received a text from music legend Beyoncé, 44, was shown in her Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, back in 2022.

Meghan’s reaction to Beyoncé’s text

In 2021, Meghan and Harry sat down for their now-infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey.

After the interview aired, in a moment that was caught by the cameras, Meghan received a text from Beyoncé.

Meghan and Beyoncé first met in 2019 during the London premiere of The Lion King movie. They have maintained a friendship ever since.

In episode six of the series, whilst in their Montecito home, Meghan said: “Beyoncé just texted.”

Harry gasped dramatically, before Meghan informed him that the star was “just checking in”.

“I still can’t believe she knows who I am!” Meghan said in disbelief.

Harry then urged his wife, “Go and call her.”

Meghan then replied, saying: “No, it’s okay.”

The duchess then went on to reveal what Beyoncé had texted her, saying.

“She said she wants me to feel safe and protected. She admires and respects my bravery and vulnerability and thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed,” she explained.

“That’s well said,” Harry said.

Beyoncé’s mum ‘puts down’ Meghan

However, back in June of this year, Beyoncé’s mum, Tina Knowles, seemingly took a swipe at Meghan during a podcast appearance.

Tina appeared on Meghan’s podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, to discuss working with her daughter, amongst other things. She also seemingly offered Meghan some advice about family rifts.

“We have disagreements about things, but it’s her business. I’m helping with the business because I just want to leave this earth knowing that she, other than entertainment, is going to be okay. Otherwise, we get along really well. If we have a disagreement, it’s her business, so she gets to win,” she explained.

At the time, royal commentator Sarah Hewson told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show that Tina was sharing some valuable advice with Meghan about managing family feuds.

Tina offers advice on family feuds

Meghan is estranged from her father, Thomas Markle, as well as her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr, and her half-sister, Samantha Markle.

The duchess and her husband also have strained relations with the royal family, mainly Prince William and Kate Middleton.

“There was one particular line that stood out for me when Tina said, ‘Of course we disagree as family, and when we’re in business together and we’re working together, there will be disagreements,” Hewson said.

“‘But I don’t let them kind of sit. I can’t. I pick up the phone and I make up because I don’t want to miss that time.’ Oh, wow, ok, because, you’re talking to someone who is no longer speaking to her father and whose husband is no longer speaking to his father. And a lot of time is passing’,” she then continued.

“It really stood out because she used the phrase wasted time and Meghan agreed and said, ‘Yes, it’s wasted time.’ Surely she had that reflection of, well, there’s a lot of people around in our lives,” show host Bronte Coy then added.
