he hit US medical drama, The Pitt, has finally landed in the UK, over a year after it started airing in the US.

The series, from R Scott Gemmill (ER, NCIS Los Angeles), is set in the underfunded, overworked emergency department of a Pittsburgh hospital. The action unfolds across one 15-hour day, with each of the 15 episodes tracking one hour of chief attendant Dr Robby’s shift.

The show has received widespread critical acclaim. Last year, it won five Emmy Awards, including for Outstanding Drama Series and acting wins for leading stars Noah Wyle, Katherine LaNasa and recurring guest star Shawn Hatosy.

Viewers are loving the intense medical drama

The cast spent a fortnight learning how to navigate a hospital and correctly use medical techniques and language before the show went into production.

Tracy, who plays Dr Heather Collins, said that working on the drama has given her “such a healthy respect for all the people in the health service” who “put their lives and their mental health at risk every day”.
