Jimmy Kimmel sees Tuesday’s election results as a clear bad sign for President Donald Trump.
Tuesday’s elections saw the defeat of several high-profile Republican candidates across the country. The most devastating result for the MAGA world was the decisive victory of NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani over Trump-backed Andrew Cuomo.
“This was not a good night for the president,“ Kimmel said. ”Everything he touched was a loser.”
Kimmel joked, “Trump hasn’t been this embarrassed since he found out there was a Donald Trump Jr.”
The late night host added, “If you’re tired of all the losing, fear not, [Trump’s] got an excuse. In fact, he’s got two of them…”
Kimmel showed a Truth Social post from Trump on Tuesday night in which the president insisted Democrats only won because he wasn’t on any of the ballots, and because of the ongoing government shutdown.
“Now, if Republicans had won and he wasn’t on the ballot, would he take credit for that? Oh, yes, he definitely would,” Kimmel said.

Kimmel covered Trump’s Truth Social post from later on election night in which the president ominously wrote, “…AND SO IT BEGINS!”
Kimmel joked that the vague post was “either a response to Mamdani winning the mayoral race or he just sat down on the toilet.”
“I mean, seriously, what is that supposed to mean? What would motivate him to post ‘and so it begins!’ at almost midnight?” Kimmel asked.

Kimmel also mocked the conspiratorial response from some MAGA pundits over the Democrats’ sweeping over-performance across the nation.
“As you might have guessed, Republicans are again screaming and crying about election fraud,” Kimmel said. “It’s weird how it’s only fraud when they lose, right? I mean, what are the chances?”
Kimmel addressed Trump’s second excuse for his party’s poor election results: the government shutdown.
“As of today, we’re now enduring the longest government shutdown of all time. This is day 36,” Kimmel said.
He later added, “Trump has been desperately trying to convince anyone who’ll listen that Democrats are responsible for the shutdown, and that it has nothing to do with him trying to hide the Epstein files.”
