Known for his gritty lyrics and genre-defying sound, Jelly Roll has always walked his own path. But with his latest high-profile collaboration, he’s finally claiming a seat at the table of music royalty. The track, already hailed as a “genre-shattering anthem,” marks a pivotal moment in a career built on risk and reinvention.

Jelly Roll has a lot going on at the moment. When it comes to the Billboard charts, three of his own singles are present on at least one tally apiece, but that figure only represents about half of his current successes. He’s also credited as a featured artist on four tracks fronted by other stars that are going strong.
The singer-songwriter manages to land wins across a variety of rankings, appearing on tallies focused specifically on country, rock, and hip-hop simultaneously. It’s in the latter sphere where the Grammy nominee reaches a new career peak on several tallies at the same time with a debut.

Jelly joins Lil Wayne and Big Sean on “Sharks,” which is featured on Tha Carter VI, the latest full-length by Wayne. “Sharks” was quickly selected by fans as a standout tune from the project, and it earns a lofty starting point on a number of rosters.
The collaborative track opens at No. 12 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It also manages to launch at No. 7 on both the Hot Rap Songs and Rap Streaming Songs tallies. Those positions mark new career peaks for Jelly on those competitive lists.
Jelly Roll’s Collabs with Eminem and Joyner Lucas
Throughout his time in the spotlight, Jelly has only placed two tunes on all three of those rankings — but which track of his has reached them differs.
He previously topped out at No. 40 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with “Best for Me,” a collaboration with Joyner Lucas. Over on the rap-specific rankings, Jelly has previously appeared inside the top 10 on both the Hot Rap Songs and Rap Streaming Songs lists with “Somebody Save Me,” his 2024 collaboration with Eminem. “Sharks” beats “Somebody Save Me” by just a spot or two on that pair of rosters.

Jelly Roll’s First Career Win
The multi-style artist also reaches the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs ranking for the very first time with “Sharks.” It opens at No. 9 on the list of the most successful hip-hop, R&B and rap tunes across platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, and Jelly scores his first top 10 with the collaboration upon its arrival.
