Welsh star Amy Dowden has been dazzling BBC audiences on Strictly Come Dancing since 2017. The 35-year-old has partnered with famous faces including Tom Fletcher, JB Gill, Karim Zeroual and, most recently, Thomas Skinner. Sadly, her pairing with the Apprentice star was cut short when they became the opening couple to exit the contest. This weekend, the cherished professional dancer shared a throwback collection of snaps from 10 years ago, reminiscing about the life-changing moment when the BBC asked her to join Strictly’s professional line-up

Captioning the pictures, she reflected: “Joining the 2016 trend! A year that really changed my life! Becoming British champions and being offered Strictly Come Dancing (I joined the following year).”

“It was a year of full-on dancing. Ben and I, in our own bubble, doing what we love, learning, competing, performing, teaching and travelling whilst doing so.#2016 #2016trend #grateful”.

Admirers flooded the comments with messages of appreciation for the 35-year-old, with one fan declaring: “Our Warrior … a fabulous dancer, and a lovely person, here’s to a happy and healthy 2026.” Another commented: “Inspirational.”

Amy’s post comes after her recent announcement to followers about a project she’s been working ‘super hard’ on, Wales Online reports.

In a video clip, the Strictly star disclosed that this Spring, she’ll be hosting her debut retreat weekend, designed to help people revitalise their minds, bodies and souls.

Joining forces with nutritionist Abi Owens, Amy provided a glimpse into what participants could expect.

She captioned the post: “We’ve created the dream weekend – joyful dance workshops, inspiring chats, delicious food, relaxation, and everything your body and mind need to feel your best.It’s going to be luxury, fun, and full of feel-good energy, and I cannot wait to meet some of you there.”
