The harrowing 999 audio from the emergency call made from Diane Keaton’s residence on the day she passed away has been made public, and fans have been left devastated.
The Hollywood legend died in California following reports of a “sudden” deterioration in her condition. Whilst the cause of the 79 year old’s death remains unconfirmed, reports indicate that Diane’s health had experienced a sudden decline in the weeks prior to the tragic announcement.
The telephone call was placed from the Oscar-winner’s home on 11 October. The actress was transported from her Los Angeles residence by ambulance on Saturday, October 11 and was subsequently pronounced dead following an emergency call from the property. The 999 audio to the fire service disclosed there was a “person down.” Fans have been left devastated by the chilling phone call, as one person posted on X: “Heartbreaking: Chilling 911 tapes capture Diane Keaton’s final moments at 79—rushed from her LA home, gone too soon after wildfire stress and secret health woes.”

Another wondered: “I wonder what took her so soon,” as a third mused: ” So it was sudden and quick. Either that or in your sleep is a better way to go than to linger for years incapacitated. The shocking hard part is now for her children. Farewell sweet Lady. She led a good life.”
A fourth added about a detail that they noticed on the call, saying: “All those beeps are just heartbreaking!”
Although Diane’s cause of death is presently unknown, a friend of the actress informed People Magazine: “She declined very suddenly, which was heartbreaking for everyone who loved her. It was so unexpected, especially for someone with such strength and spirit.”, reports the Mirror.
Songwriter Carole Bayer Sager has revealed that the star had become extremely thin prior to her shocking death and noted how deeply affected she was by the wildfires that devastated Los Angeles earlier this year. “I saw her two or three weeks ago, and she was very thin; she had lost so much weight,” she said.
“She had to retreat to Palm Springs because her house had been damaged internally and they needed to clean everything. “I simply adored her. She was so unique, she just illuminated a room with her energy.
Throughout her illustrious career, Diane starred in a plethora of films including Father of the Bride, The First Wives Club and The Godfather. She was a frequent collaborator with Woody Allen, featuring in eight of his films between 1972 and 1993.
Diane had several high-profile relationships, including with Al Pacino, Warren Beatty and Woody Allen, but she never married. In her 50s, Diane adopted two children, Dexter and Duke, and raised them as a single mother.
