A Sky F1 presenter has made an exciting announcement after a period away from our screens.

Sky Sports F1 presenter and pundit Naomi Schiff has announced the birth of her first child, posting a picture of her with her baby boy to her Instagram account on Tuesday. The 31-year-old has been absent from our screens since the Dutch Grand Prix at the end of August.

“Raphaël Schiff-Dedieu • born October 8th 2025,” Schiff wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday. “My little boy, in so little time you have completely changed my world. You’ve given me this role I always knew I wanted, but never knew I’d love this deeply.

“I can’t wait to watch you discover the world, to help you feel brave, to lift you when you fall, and to remind you every day just how deeply you’re loved. Thank you for making me your mom. Ilysm.”

Schiff, who has been part of Sky Sports F1’s coverage since 2022, received support and congratulatory messages from a number of colleagues and celebrity figures. “Congratulations guys,” wrote 2009 world champion Jenson Button, while Laura Winter added: “The biggest congratulations. So so happy for you, just beautiful! Hope you’re doing really well.”

Fellow Sky F1 pundit Natalie Pinkham added: “Absolute perfection, the world needs more posts like this, love you guys,” punctuated by a string of heart emojis. And former F1 TV stalwart Will Buxton commented: “So many congratulations x”

Max Verstappen’s sister, Victoria Verstappen, also offered her support, posting a congratulatory message, while Adrian Newey’s wife, Amanda Newey, commented: “Oh wow. Congratulations,” with some extra emojis thrown in.

When Schiff will return to Sky Sports F1’s pundit line-up is unclear, but with only four rounds of the 2025 campaign remaining, there is little time left to find out. The World Championship fight is reaching a captivating climax, and the two McLaren team-mates are now separated by only one point in the Drivers’ Championship standings.

Norris won last time out in Mexico City by a commanding margin, beating Charles Leclerc by over 30 seconds – the first time that a driver has won by over half a minute since Verstappen’s dominant Hungarian GP win in 2023.

Verstappen remains in the fight, too. The Dutchman executed a strong Sunday of damage limitation at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez on Sunday, finishing third behind Norris and Leclerc and ensuring that his deficit to first in the standings has been trimmed to 36 points with four Grands Prix and two sprints still to play out.
