A teenage boy is among three people who have died in three separate crashes on WA roads in a tragic start to the Easter long weekend.

The first crash occurred around 4:25pm on Thursday, when a 14-year-old boy riding a dirt bike collided with a Ford utility on Albany Highway, between Admiral and Narbethong Roads in Bedfordale, 40 kilometres south-east of Perth.

Police said the teen rider died at the scene.

The 19-year-old man driving the utility was not hurt.

Minutes later, a second motorbike rider was killed in a different crash about 4:30pm on Thursday.

A man, 30, was riding on Kingsbury Drive in Jarrahdale, 45 kilometres south-east of Perth, when he lost control of his motorbike and crashed.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the man could not be saved.

Woman killed in four-wheel drive rollover

The third crash occurred in Derby, more than 2,000km north of Perth.

A woman, 18, died after the car she was a passenger in rolled about 9:45pm on Thursday night.

Four people were travelling in a four-wheel drive on the mudflats adjacent to Rowan Street in Derby when it is alleged the driver lost control of the car, causing it to roll.

The woman was critically injured in the crash and died from her injuries.

The other occupants of the car, including two 17-year-old boys and a 19-year-old man who was driving, were not hurt.

Police said the driver was assisting them with inquiries.

Anyone with dash-cam vision related to any of the crashes is asked to contact police.

Call for safety

The deaths come after Police and Road Safety Minister Reece Whitby called on drivers to stay safe over the Easter long weekend.

“I just urge everyone to think about their responsibilities behind the wheel, to take it safely and to remember the things they can do to avoid danger and risk,” he said, speaking to reporters yesterday.

“Don’t speed. Don’t be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Don’t drive tired or fatigued. Don’t play with your phone or be distracted.

“And of course, wear your seat belt and wear it correctly.”

Road Policing Commander Mike Peters has reminded motorists police would be patrolling the roads over the long weekend.

“Police will be out in force and highly visible across the state during this double demerit point period, and we don’t apologise for being anywhere anytime.

“And we don’t apologise for upsetting your travel plans if you aren’t doing the right thing on the road.” he said.
