All nine seasons of an iconic noughties drama have landed on Netflix UK, and fans are delighted

The “best show ever” that has fans “reliving my twenties” is the perfect way to start off the month. First hitting our screens back in 2003, teen drama One Tree Hill has continued to charm audiences globally with its endearing chracters and impactful storylines. The drama unfolds in the fictional North Carolina town of Tree Hill, revolving around two half-brothers called Nathan (James Lafferty) and Lucas (Chad Michael Murray), who are forced to play high school basketball together. The main cast also includes “tutor girl” Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz), popular cheerleader Brooke (Sophia Bush), and quirky artist Peyton (Hilarie Burton).

As the series progresses, unexpected relationships form among the characters as they navigate the trials and tribulations of small-town adolescence. The first four seasons notably followed the main characters throughout high school, before jumping ahead four years to their adult lives, which took centre stage over the next five seasons. Other notable cast members include Paul Johansson, Lee Norris, Moira Kelly, Antwon Tanner, Barbara Alyn Woods, and Danneel Ackles.

In the years since it ended, One Tree Hill has been branded “one of the greatest teen dramas of all time”, with several publications drawing comparisons to Dawson’s Creek and The OC.

Ahead of the show celebrating its 23rd anniversary later this year, UK fans can now binge the entire series as it has landed on Netflix. The streamer announced the exciting news on its official Instagram account on Sunday (March 1), writing: “Did someone say 2000s nostalgia??? ONE TREE HILL is now on @netflixuk!”

Fans quickly shared their delight in the comments section, with one person writing: “So excited about this!! Can’t wait to binge watch all over again! It’s like reliving my twenties!”

Another added: “YASSS FINALLY,” while a third said: “One of the best shows ever.” A fourth viewer echoed the sentiment, saying: “I’ve been manifesting this for YEARS.” Someone else similarly shared: “Buzzing for this. Been binge watching all day.”

Other viewers shared their excitement on X (formerly Twitter) after pressing play on the iconic drama all over again. “Starting #OneTreeHill on Netflix from today. It’s really one of the best shows ever made.” Another added: “Happy #OneTreeHill is finally on Netflix in Ireland and the UK day to all who celebrate.”

OTH has continued to live on through the form of a podcast, after original stars and best friends Sophia Bush, Bethany Joy Lenz and Hilarie Burton launched the popular rewatch podcast Drama Queens. The endeavour, which ran from 2021 until 2025, delved into each episode of the hit noughties show, offering behind-the-scenes stories, personal reflections, and discussions of the show’s themes.

Hilarie left the show after her character, Peyton, departed Tree Hill at the end of season six, with Robert Buckley, who played Clay Evans, taking her place for the rest of the series.

It’s a good time to be an OTH fan, as a reboot is reportedly in development, with the storyline rumoured to be focused on Brooke and Peyton as they parent teenagers. It’s not yet known whether any of the other original stars are also set to return to Tree Hill.
