TRIBUTES have poured in for a brave influencer, 23, who died after being diagnosed with cancer less than six months ago.

Carol the Warrior, also known as Carolina Reyes, passed away on March 11 after sharing her shock diagnosis late last year.

The Colombian influencer had 210,000 Instagram followers and shared every step of her cancer battle with her fans.

She has been remembered as a “brilliant human being who never gave up in the face of any difficulty that came her way”.

In a statement on her Instagram page, family members asked for “respect and empathy” at this difficult time.

Relatives also thanked Carolina’s fans for their support in the months since she was diagnosed with cancer.

“Thank you for loving her, supporting her, showing her so much affection, and always welcoming her with open arms,” her family said.

In October last year, Carolina revealed that she was suffering with health issues that prompted her to go to hospital in the city of Cali, Colombia.

After several tests, doctors diagnosed fluid in her lungs and drained several fluid-filled sacs.

She said at the time: “You can’t imagine how devastated my uncle was to see me in such pain.

“They had to bathe me, dress me, everything.”

She also said that some family members believed her illness was the result of a black magic ritual despite medical diagnoses pointing to a complex clinical condition.

She had recently returned from a trip to Brazil just prior to her passing.

Her family said they will provide details of her funeral in the coming days.

Carolina’s online community were quick to pay their respects.

“How sad that such a beautiful and wonderful person has left this world so unexpectedly,” one person wrote.

Another wrote in tribute: “I will always remember her as the most beautiful girl, with a pure heart and with beautiful feelings for her people.”

A fan said: “I’m the only one who still doesn’t understand this. I saw her fighting with so much energy. I am speechless.”

“I didn’t know her but I always followed her and watched all her stories, her strength and her faith and her resilience made me so happy,” another person wrote on Instagram.
