A man who allegedly stabbed his former partner and her new boyfriend to death has been named for the first time.
Anare Vunitabua, 47, allegedly killed his former partner Anaseini Waqavuki and her new partner on Sunday morning.
Ms Waqavuki’s 30-year-old partner was found on the footpath outside her Illabo St home in Quakers Hill with stab wounds to his stomach and hands about 5am.

He was rushed to hospital but died there hours later.
Ms Waqavuki was found dead in her kitchen, having suffered multiple stab wounds.
Mr Vunitabua has been charged with murder over the pair’s deaths.
He requested to appear before the Bail Division Court on Monday morning however the magistrate declined to bring him in as it was not necessary.

Mr Vunitabua did not apply for bail, and will remain in custody ahead of his next hearing in February 2026 at the Downing Centre Local Court.
NSW Police Superintendent Jason Joyce on Sunday indicated the alleged stabbings were domestic violence related.
“We believe that the deceased female and deceased male were in a relationship,” he said.

“The male that’s in custody was previously in a relationship with the female.”
Superintendent Joyce described the scene as “traumatic” and “confronting” for emergency services and neighbours.
A knife has also been recovered from a service station on Richmond Road in Woodcroft.
