pple TV’s latest psychological thriller has had viewers glued to their screens. The eight-part series, titled Imperfect Women, debuted with its first two episodes on Wednesday, and fans are already counting down the days until episode three is released.
The compelling series, which HELLO!‘s TV writer Abby Allen described as a “familiar yet twisty Apple TV whodunnit” in her 3.5-star review, follows three fortysomething best friends Eleanor (Kerry Washington), Mary (Elisabeth Moss) and Nancy (Kate Mara), whose lives are shattered when one of them is murdered.

Not only is the drama led by TV thriller queens, Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Kerry Washington (Scandal), but its creator Annie Weisman is no stranger to creating gripping drama, having worked on the hit shows, Desperate Housewives and Physical.

Based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, the eight-part series follows three women—Eleanor, Mary, and Nancy – who have been best friends for decades. But when Nancy is murdered, the investigation uncovers scandalous secrets, prompting the friends to ask how well they really know each other.

What have viewers said about Imperfect Women?
It’s safe to say viewers are loving the addictive new drama and were hooked after just one episode.
One person wrote on social media: “My kind of drama & shenanigans. Just Scandalous. OMG. I am hooked,” while another added: “I’m watching the first of the two released episodes of Imperfect Women and it’s already hooked me.”

A third viewer penned: “It’s so good, was hooked off the 1st episode,” while another hailed the premiere as “amazing”.
Meanwhile, the show received mixed reviews from TV critics. The Guardian described the drama as an “overwritten, far-fetched, glossy but derivative murder mystery” in its three-star review, while The Times handed out two stars and said the show felt “more like a glossy soap”.

The series premiered with its first two episodes on Wednesday 18 March on Apple TV. New episodes will be released weekly until Wednesday 29 April.
