Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been warned that he might end up sleeping in the caravan which was reportedly purchased to house his staff on Marsh Farm “if he’s not careful”, after refusing to spare any expense on his new home.

King Charles, who promised to make “appropriate private provision” for Andrew after he lost his former home at Royal Lodge, along with his titles, is said to be “angry” over his younger brother’s extravagant demands.

One such demand was rehanging curtains from Royal Lodge in Marsh Farm on the Sandringham grounds, with the King paying to have them altered at “considerable expense”, according to the Mail on Sunday.

Additionally, artworks from Royal Lodge, some of which are too large for the walls in Andrew’s new property, are reportedly being rehung by luxurious removal firm, Gander & White, which charges around £15,000 for a team.

A source claimed to the publication: “The King is angry because he doesn’t want to pay anymore than what he has already.”

Andrew is temporarily living nearby at Wood Farm, and is reportedly putting off vacating the premises until Marsh Farm is up to his “standards”, which has also irritated Charles, who would prefer to use the property for Sandringham guests.

The source continued: “Marsh Farm has needed rewiring and plastering and there was even talk of asbestos – it’s not in a fit state for him yet.

“Meanwhile, Andrew wants the best of everything and the process is painfully slow. But he needs to be out soon, and the King would have no qualms about pushing him out of Wood Farm if it was needed for overspill.

Buckingham Palace has declined to comment.

Andrew has been staying away from the public eye at Wood Farm on the King’s estate ever since his arrest on his 66th birthday, on suspicion of misconduct in a public office.

The arrest came after the release of millions of pages of files related to the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who Andrew had a friendship with.

The former Duke of York was interviewed by police and released under investigation.
