Concerns are mounting over the survival of star Martin Kemp in the reality show I’m A Celebrity, as his family and fans publicly complain about his lack of airtime. His wife, singer Shirlie Kemp, issued a direct warning, suggesting Martin needs to be more active to avoid elimination from the series.

Family Frustrated with Lack of Screen Time

The Kemp family took to the social media platform X to express their frustration, humorously comparing Martin’s airtime to specific details, namely Angry Ginge’s ear. Martin’s official account satirically complained: “Ginge’s talking ear is getting more screen time than martin. #ImACeleb.”

To emphasize his absence, the family even shared a mock-up image of the Where’s Wally book, retitled “Where’s Martin,” implying it was harder to find Martin than the book’s character. Fans have also voiced confusion over why the former Spandau Ballet member keeps disappearing from the show’s edits.

Strategic Warning from Wife Shirlie

Appearing on Lorraine live from Australia, Shirlie Kemp admitted to the frustration. She explained that Martin’s quietness is “natural” because he is “quite quiet and likes to listen.” However, Shirlie then offered direct strategic advice to her husband:

“Sometimes I want to say to him, ‘Martin, come on, do more!’” Shirlie said. She also reassured viewers that she views the experience as a chance for him to “detox and rest.”

When asked about the possibility of him reaching the final, Shirlie expressed doubt, arguing that Martin “needs more trials” (Bushtucker Trials). She reasoned that because Martin is not annoying his campmates, viewers are not voting for him to do the tough Trials, thereby reducing his visibility and likelihood of being kept in the show.

Imminent Eviction Pressure

With Vogue Williams becoming the third star to leave the jungle, the pressure for the remaining contestants is escalating. Martin, along with Jack Osbourne, Lisa Riley, Tom Read Wilson, Ruby Wax, Angry Ginge, Aitch, Shona McGarty, and Kelly Brook, are all in the danger zone.

As the number of contestants dwindles, Martin Kemp’s fate remains completely unpredictable. Fans are certainly hoping he can survive for one more night in the next episode.
