Meghan Markle’s master plan behind her decision to return to the UK after four years has been exposed by a royal expert. The Duchess of Sussex is coming back to Prince Harry’s home country in July, when the couple will mark the One Year To Go Invictus Games event.
The Games take place next year in Birmingham. It coincides with the latest polls that show Meghan’s popularity in Britain remains low. Now, a royal expert has claimed the Duchess has a cunning plan when it comes to their visit, which is to boost her and the duke’s status.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Express: “They [the Sussexes] haven’t succeeded in Hollywood.
“That’s what it’s [the trip] about, boosting their status and using Invictus as a lever as well, obviously, as being very personal for Harry.”
Mr Fitzwilliams claimed the duchess is bringing her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with her to “deflect” criticism and added that she can user the attention she’ll get in her favour.
He said: “Meghan is bringing the children as a way of deflecting criticism.
“She knows her popularity ratings are 20% and his are at 30% are not much better.
“There will be plenty of footage of Harry and no doubt of Meghan with children, he is attached to WellChild and Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
“She has one advantage, everyone knows who she is, the press may attack but there will still be huge coverage.”
It comes as another royal commentator warned the Sussex couple of public perception.
Lee Cohen, a US-based columnist/royal and foreign policy commentator, told the Spectator: “A return for Meghan Markle, if it actually happens, could drop like a lead balloon with the British public.
“She torched her bridges in her husband’s homeland, above all, it seems, through the couple’s conduct toward the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in their final years.
“Many in Britain and throughout the globe who cherished the late Queen and her husband will neither forget nor forgive.”
