Love Island: All Stars season 3 couple Leanne Amaning and Scott van-der-Sluis may have only come third this season, but were definitely at the centre of some pretty dramatic, memorable love triangles. Since the show came to an end, with Samie Elishi and Ciaran Davies coming out on top, one of questions lingering for Love Island fans has been whether Scott and Leanne would be able to make their relationship work on the outside — or whether he would slide in Belle Hassan’s DMs within a week, as Scott himself put it during an unfortunate challenge.

Season 6 star Leanne and season 10’s Scott have been an item pretty much since he set foot in the South African Villa on Day 3. However, their relationship has been far from smooth sailing after Villa USA brought bombshell Sher Suarez in.

As Sher chose to couple up with Scott, a devastated Leanne stayed in the game and recoupled with Tommy Bradley. It seems that Sher’s decision really meant the end for Scott and Leanne, with the latter insisting the door was closed on a possible reconciliation.

Scott, who had been adamant he only had eyes for Leanne, caused some Villa chaos after some flirty conversations with Belle left Leanne unimpressed. The couple managed to patch things up, though not before a disappointed Belle suggested Scott hadn’t been fully honest with Leanne.

Speaking ahead of the finale, Leanne stood by her decision to end things with Scott.

“I have no regrets. I didn’t actually do it for this result. I did it because that’s how I felt at the time and I meant it,” she said. “That’s our journey now and I’m glad it’s led us back together.”

Scott also weighed in on people questioning their relationship and his emotional maturity, saying: “We don’t need to prove it to anyone else.

“People question the way my brain works, that’s years of playing football and being told you can’t express your emotions and be mentally tough. You come into this and you’ve got to express your emotions. My sister is my safe space and now Leanne is my safe space as well, so she’ll be getting my more emotional side.”

As the couple look forward to their first date away from cameras and prying eyes, fans can rest assured that these two are heading towards boyfriend and girlfriend territory, at least according to Scott.

When asked if they were making “boyfriend/girlfriend plans”, Scott said: “Yes, 100% that moment I always wanted to make a moment for her. I don’t think you can make that moment in there. There’s much nicer things and much more meaningful things you can do on the outside.”

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
