You were right to be confused when you didn’t see High Potential on your screen last night.
The Kaitlin Olson-led sitcom, an instant hit for ABC since it premiered in September 2024, typically airs Tuesday nights at 9pm EST.
However on Tuesday, February 10, it appeared as if the show was unexpectedly yanked from the air — the network aired a rerun instead — even after it already took its midseason break. Here’s what’s going on, and when the show will be back.

Why High Potential isn’t airing new episodes
Though the show only just returned from its winter hiatus in January after being off the air since October, it has again kicked off another hiatus, reportedly because of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
While NBC is airing the Olympics, live from Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, ABC has opted to run reruns until the games are over, February 22, so as not to have to compete with the games.
When will High Potential come back?
With the 2026 Winter Olympics ending on Sunday, February 22, High Potential will return to its usual 9pm Tuesday time slot the following week’s Tuesday, on March 3.
For now, viewers can continue watching reruns on Tuesday, or all of season one and already aired episodes of season two on Hulu.

What else to know about season two
The last new episode of High Potential was its 12th, “The Faust and the Furious,” which aired on February 3.
The next will air exactly one month later, though ABC has not announced the 13th episode’s title or synopsis. Season two has an 18-episode order, so there will be five other episodes after that one to watch.

The High Potential cast
Season two saw the addition of Steve Howey to the cast, as Captain Nick Wagner, who is described as a savvy political animal who knows how to wear an expensive suit and oozes effortless charm.
In addition to him and Kailtin, who stars as a single mother who becomes a consultant for the LAPD, High Potential also stars Daniel Sunjata as Detective Karadec, Judy Reyes as Selena, Amirah J as Ava, Javicia Leslie as Daphne Forrester, and Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Osman, among others.
