Good Morning Britain has been bombarded with hundreds of Ofcom complaints after ‘utterly sickening’ comments about Charlie Kirk‘s murder.
The American right-wing activist was shot dead at just 31 years old while giving a speech on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on September 10 2025.
The ITV show, which was presented by Kate Garraway, 58, and Ed Balls, 58, covered the shocking event the next morning.
And 354 viewers took to the telly regulator to share how unhappy they were with some comments made by the guests.
Writer Nels Abbey and former conservative MP Michael Gove joined the hosts in the studio to discuss the matter.
Michael described Charlie as ‘a sort of Cicero for the TikTok age’, ‘who deliberately set out to go on debate on campuses and elsewhere to carry the mega-message’.

Nels then went on to give his opinion, adding: ‘Can I just say something?
‘I don’t agree with the Cicero of TikTok. I believe he was a David Duke for the TikTo age.’
David Duke was known as a neo-Nazi American politician, who was the national leader of white supremacist group Ku Klux Klan.
Nels continued: ‘This is by no means trying to justify his murder.
‘Political violence is wrong at home, it’s wrong abroad.
‘Political violence must be condemned, as must the propagandising for political violence and the dehumanisation of people.
‘Charlie Kirk was somebody who… I shiver, particularly for Conservatives when he’s described as Conservative, because he wasn’t by any means whatsoever.
‘He was quite clearly and comfortably a supremacist.’

He added: ‘I am not here to justify or contextualise his murder.
‘I completely appall political violence.
‘I completely despise guns and guns violence.’
Nels also said: ‘It’s sad, it’s wrong, but there’s a moral lesson in here too, which is to recognise your own vulnerability, be more empathetic, don’t propagandise for people’s murder.
‘It could happen to you.’
It comes after The Chase’s Anne Hegerty sparked a flurry of outrage after making ‘stupid and terribly misinformed’ comments on the murder of American Right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
Quizmaster Anne, the inimitable ‘Governess’ on the hit ITV game show, later weighed in with her personal thoughts, and has even engaged in fiery debate with angry commenters.
She told her 148,000 followers: ‘I had never heard of Charlie Kirk before Wednesday night.
‘Had we met, my end of the conversation would have been “You just said WHAT?” and “Scuse me, those are my FRIENDS you’re talking about.”‘
She then clarified: ‘I join Bernie Sanders in deploring his murder.’
But commenters were furious at what they deemed ‘misinformed’ comments by the TV personality.
One wrote: ‘Anne, look at his debates before making assumptions – P.S. your head is big.’
The Chaser responded: ‘I know, it always has been. In the jungle, I had the second largest hat size.’
Another person wrote: ‘You’ve never heard of him yet you make stupid assumptions.’
They added: ‘There’s nothing he says that is controversial if you actually take time to listen.’
