Baroness Karren Brady has been dubbed “unrecognisable” by viewers after returning to screens for the celebrity version of The Apprentice, with fans stunned by how different she looks from her early days on the programme. The businesswoman and Baroness, 56, returned this week for the launch of the latest BBC series, and has since shared a string of behind-the-scenes snaps that show off her dramatic transformation. The images quickly sparked a flood of reaction online, with many viewers admitting they barely recognised her.

Karren, who has been a mainstay of the show since 2010, posted photos from filming on Instagram, including one taken in the iconic boardroom. In the snap, she leans against Alan Sugar’s chair, dressed in a black cropped jacket with a cinched waist and high-waisted slim-cut trousers that highlighted her slender frame. In another image, she posed alongside businessman Mike Soutar, a familiar face to fans of the show, before sharing more shots from the celebrity challenge filmed in snowy Lapland.

Captioning the post, Karren wrote: “Gingerbread baked. Pressure spiked. One celebrity cracked.

“Tension ran high in the boardroom last night; the competition was fierce, and both teams brought their gingerbread magic to the table.”

She added: “Filming these celebrity episodes for @bbccin was such a joy. Huge thanks to every celebrity who rolled up their sleeves, gave it their all, and helped raise vital funds for this amazing cause.”

Fans were quick to react to the images, with many focusing on how different the star looks. One wrote: “You look incredible!!! happy new year to you and your family”.

Another said: “I think you look beautiful. Whether on the old jabs or not it’s working and you look amazing and your face is glowing and youthful xxxx”.

A third posted: “@karren_brady_official You look incredible! Ignore the grinches. Happy New Year to you and your lovely family”, while another admitted: “She looks gorgeous but totally different would never have recognised her.”

Karren has previously addressed speculation surrounding her weight loss, insisting it was not down to weight-loss injections.

Last year, she revealed she had lost “quite a bit” but said it was the result of lifestyle changes rather than medication.

She explained: “I have been on a health kick, I became a grandma, and I wanted to be a fit, healthy grandma, so I started eating healthy and exercising.

I haven’t joined [the weight loss jab Club] – bloody hard work. It is okay losing it, it is keeping it off.

“I have lost quite a bit – I don’t know, though, as I don’t weigh myself. I feel better for it. It is good because everything you put on fits.”

The star has been open about her long battle with weight. In a 2010 interview with Radio Times, she admitted: “I worry I look posh and fat,” adding: “I’ve spent 20 years battling my weight. Alan’s so fit and slim, I look huge in comparison.”
