“First day of summer and last day of filming Season 7 of Virgin River.”
— Benjamin Hollingsworth, aka Brady, on Instagram
The countdown to Virgin River’s return is officially on.
Netflix’s beloved romantic drama Virgin River has wrapped filming Season 7 in Vancouver, just as summer officially kicked off. After months of on-location shooting in beautiful British Columbia, including the fan-favorite Mel & Jack’s house set in north Langley, the cast and crew are saying their goodbyes — for now.
“Almost to the finish line.”
Series star Alexandra Breckenridge (Mel) summed up the collective exhaustion and excitement in a recent Instagram video filmed under the June sun:
“I feel like I’m on day 857 of filming Season 7… We’re almost done. Can you believe it? I can’t even believe it.”
The hardworking cast has been busy filming the next chapter of life in Virgin River — one full of new beginnings, fresh complications, and the cozy charm that’s kept fans coming back season after season.
What’s Coming in Season 7?
Season 7 picks up just two hours after the events of the Season 6 finale — no time jump here, folks. And that means big questions are about to get some answers fast.
Here’s what to expect:
Newlywed Life for Mel & Jack
Mel Monroe (Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) finally tied the knot in Season 6. Now, Season 7 explores their “honeymoon phase,” but life in Virgin River is never simple. From building their future on the farm to navigating questions of parenthood, the newlyweds face heartwarming — and heartbreaking — decisions.
Could adopting Marley’s baby be part of their journey?
Cliffhanger Chaos: Where Is Charmaine?
In one of the biggest cliffhangers yet, Jack walks into Charmaine’s home to confront her about skipping the wedding — and stumbles onto something horrifying off camera.
Is Charmaine missing… or worse?
Are her twins safe?
Season 7 opens just two hours later, so expect answers fast.
Love Triangles, Secrets, and Scams
The complicated Brie-Mike-Brady triangle is far from over.
Mike popped the question, but how will Brie respond — especially now that he knows about her reunion with ex Brady?
As if that wasn’t enough, Lark pulled a fast one on Brady, swindling him out of his money and vanishing. Will he bounce back?
Other relationships heating up:
Preacher (Colin Lawrence) and Kaia (Kandyse McClure)
Doc (Tim Matheson) and Hope (Annette O’Toole)
Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and Denny (Kai Bradbury)
The Road Ahead
Season 7 is now entering post-production, with editing and international prep underway. A release date hasn’t been confirmed, but fans can likely expect a late 2025 or early 2026 premiere.
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith promises plenty of twists ahead:
“There are multiple generations of love stories being told in Virgin River.”
And based on what we know, this next season could be one of the most emotional — and dramatic — yet.
Stay tuned. Virgin River Season 7 is coming… and we’re not ready.
