Wednesday‘s recent updates include a Nevermore recruitment video and the first six minutes of the new season, which have definitely helped build excitement for season 2. Following Nevermore’s closing at the end of Wednesday season 1, it will be interesting to see how the school and the outcast community will rebuild, especially knowing that the Addams Family as a whole will play a much larger role at the school, though that may not be a good thing when it comes to Wednesday season 2’s villain.
Christopher Lloyd’s New Character Is Wednesday Season 2’s Main Villain – Theory Explained
Netflix And The Cast’s Teases Point Toward This Conclusion
Out of all Wednesday season 2’s new cast announcements, Christopher Lloyd is arguably the most exciting new addition because the series will allow him to step back into the world of the Addams Family. Lloyd previously played Uncle Fester in the 1991 movie The Addams Family and the 1993 movie Addams Family Values. In the upcoming season of Wednesday, Lloyd will make his debut at the Nevermore Academy as Professor Orloff, “Nevermore’s longest-serving teacher…always on the lookout for troublemakers” (via Netflix).
Wednesday Season 2 Clip (6 Minutes)
Lloyd’s role as Professor Orloff is largely being kept under wraps, including what his power will be and exactly what he will be teaching at Nevermore.
Meanwhile, Netflix’s character descriptions for the new season tease that “it doesn’t take long for Pugsley Addams to end up on [Orloff’s] radar,” (via Netflix). Lloyd’s role as Professor Orloff is largely being kept under wraps, including what his power will be and exactly what he will be teaching at Nevermore. While other new faculty members have gotten more information released about them, it is interesting that Orloff seems more secretive, so it is possible that learning too much about the character could give his villainous role away.
Christopher Lloyd Being Wednesday’s New Villain Would Repeat Season 1’s Christina Ricci Casting Twist
Wednesday’s Villain Twist Would Not Be As Surprising The Second Time Around

I love that Wednesday seems to be consistently adding familiar faces, including Addams Family veterans like Christopher Lloyd, but if he were to be the main villain for season 2, it would repeat season 1’s big twist. Christina Ricci’s character in season 1, Marilyn Thornhill, was a normie teacher at Nevermore who grew close to Wednesday and Enid throughout the season. By the end of Wednesday season 1, though, it was revealed that Ms. Thornhill was actually Laurel Gates, who hoped to destroy the outcasts.
What’s more, after Wednesday season 1’s ending, the titular character will certainly be more wary of new adults in the school. Pugsley will create a new dimension to this, though, as he may be less aware of potential problems, causing Wednesday to come to his rescue in addition to conducting her own investigations. Though the information about the new season released thus far does hint at a villainous turn for Christopher Lloyd’s Professor Orloff, it may not be the best choice for the series to go for the same twist twice.
Wednesday Season 2 Shouldn’t Make Another Nevermore Staff Member The Main Villain
The Show Should Switch It Up

Instead, it would be more exciting and unexpected for the show to go in an entirely different direction with its season 2 antagonist. Because Wednesday season 2 has introduced so many great new cast members, there is ample opportunity for any of them to become the main villain. Outside the Nevermore staff, Tyler’s doctor at Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility, Dr. Fairburn (Thandiwe Newton) and her assistant Judi (Heather Matarazzo) could be characters to watch out for due to their interest in potentially controlling Tyler’s Hyde.
Though Ordonez’s recent statement certainly implies that the villain will be another outcast and potentially a mentor, it is possible that the Wednesday star is creating a misdirect to keep the big reveal hidden.
