Schitt’s Creek may have ended six years ago but fans are still obsessed with what the cast gets up to next.

Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy is set to return to the small screen with his “bold” comedy family saga meets “high-stakes crime thriller”.

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Big Mistakes, hinting at the antics of two “deeply incapable” siblings blackmailed into working for gangsters, along with its eagerly anticipated release date.

The eight-part series, set to be released in full on Thursday, 9 April, centres around brother and sister Nicky (portrayed by Dan Levy) and Morgan (Taylor Ortega) who quickly find themselves “way over their heads”.

After carrying out a misguided theft for their dying grandmother, this crime “accidentally pulls them into the world of organised crime.

“Blackmailed into increasingly dangerous assignments, they clumsily fail upwards, sinking deeper into chaos they’re ill-equipped to handle”.

Best known for his role as David Rose in the acclaimed Schitt’s Creek, actor Dan Levy not only stars in Big Mistakes but also serves as its creator, showrunner and executive producer.

Levy shares the screen with actress Taylor Ortega, who plays his sister Morgan and has previously appeared in Welcome to Flatch, Ghosts, The Four Seasons and Succession in 2018.

They are joined by Monster: The Ed Gein Story star Laurie Metcalf, Big star Elizabeth Perks and Ozark actor Darren Goldstein, among others.

Whilst the trailer has only recently dropped, Netflix viewers are already buzzing with anticipation for Levy’s upcoming major series.

Heading to YouTube’s comments section, one fan declared: “I’m sold. That was hilarious.”

A second agreed: “I’m so proud Dan and his Dad are excellent (and RIP Catherine O’Hara) representatives of Canadian humor! I’m in!”

Whilst another simply stated: “I see Dan Levy, I’m definitely watching.”

Following Schitt’s Creek’s conclusion in 2020, Levy has appeared in numerous other productions including Sex Education, Q-Force, The Idol, Good Grief, Smurfs and At the Sea.
