White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt might be best known for her words defending President Donald Trump as well as her impressive workwear wardrobe, but she’s also been highly discussed after an odd dose of praise from the US leader.

In an interview on August 1, President Trump made an odd comment about his White House press secretary as he told media, “She’s become a star. It’s that face, it’s that brain, it’s those lips, the way they move. They move like she is a machine gun…. She is a star, she is a great person actually.”

He then heaped more praise on her as he added, “I don’t think anybody has ever had a best Press Secretary than Karoline Leavitt. She has been amazing.”

Despite the high praise, Trump’s words have seen him come under fire as he’s accused of being “uncomfortable,” “cringey,” and “unprofessional” for his comments.

The comments come as all eyes have been on Leavitt since she became the youngest ever to take on the role of press secretary at the White House. Estimates of her net worth hover at around $7 million, but the real number could be higher with her estimated annual income said to be about $1.5 million and a predicted White House salary of $180,000.

The figures, according to the Publicist Paper, are in addition to her media opportunities and real estate investments putting her total net worth at an estimated $7 million.

Alongside her own net worth, Leavitt’s husband Nicholas Riccio also earns a hefty amount as he is thought to have a net worth of $6 million, largely from his real estate portfolio, according to Distractify.

Karoline wed her husband Nicholas Riccio, with them officially tying the knot at the start of the year, after welcoming their son Niko in July 2024. The special day was held in New Hampshire with a no expense spared affair at the Wentworth By The Sea Country Club in Rye.

The pair got engaged in December 2023, with an excited Leavitt taking to social media to share the news as she wrote, “The best Christmas of my life. I get to marry the man of my dreams. I feel SO overwhelmingly BLESSED. Thank you God.”

Karolione has previously opened up about her relationship with her husband, who is 32 years older than her. Speaking to Megyn Kelly on her talk show, Leavitt shared how the couple first met as she recalled, “I met my husband during my Congressional Campaign. A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband.

“I was speaking. We met and we were acquainted as friends. And then we fell in love.”

Reflecting on their relationship she added, “I mean it’s a very atypical love story but he’s incredible. He is my greatest supporter, he’s my best friend and he’s my rock.”
