We finally know when The View will return! After being temporarily off the air during the summer, which is common for network TV, the long-running talk show is set to return with its twenty-ninth season on Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, on ABC. Since being pulled off the air in late July 2025, encore episodes of The View have been filling its usual timeslot. But with September quickly approaching, viewers can expect all-new episodes very soon.
During the season 28 finale, co-host Joy Behar revealed that the panel would be taking a break in August for a summer hiatus and return in September. However, an exact premiere date for the upcoming installment wasn’t given at the time. Now that we know when exactly the popular talk show will return, all there is left to do is count down the days, get ready for the lively debates and celebrity interviews we all love, and settle in for another season of engaging conversations on The View.
Besides Behar, who has been a co-host of the Emmy-nominated talk show since the very beginning, fans can also expect to see the return of co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. The official The View page on YouTube also shared a short 30-second promotional video that teases what’s to come in season 29. We shared it right below.
What about the special guests for the twenty-ninth season? Well, it looks like viewers are in for a star-studded lineup. According to 1oita, the free service that lets fans request tickets to attend the show, upcoming guests include Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, America Ferrera, Michael Urie, Matthew McConaughey, Marlon Wayans, Lily James, Regina Hall, and so many others.
Other ABC shows that are slated to return with new seasons this fall are Dancing with the Stars, High Potential, The Golden Bachelor, Shark Tank, Abbott Elementary, Shifting Gears, 911 etc. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing a new season of American Idol until sometime early next year. Judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood are all confirmed to return to the judging panel for the singing competition’s twenty-fourth season. However, it’s unclear at the moment if Ryan Seacrest will return to take on hosting duties.
