Sharon Osbourne’s letter to Bill Cosby, sent after he slammed her family, has resurfaced.

A social media user took to Reddit to share the letter, which was shown in an episode of The Osbournes.

Cosby spoke to Access Hollywood in 2002 about his feelings toward the family, saying, “Let me tell you something about Ozzy Osbourne. First of all, you [the media] need to stop with this Ozzy Osbourne. This is a sad family; it is a sad case.

“The children are sad, and the parents are sad. And this is not entertainment.”

The now-disgraced performer continued on his rant about the Osbournes, adding, “I’m telling you that [the show] is a sad thing – it’s like laughing at Tiny Tim. It is the kind of entertainment that you look at, but you wouldn’t want in your home. And I don’t like to look at things like that.”

At the time, a spokesperson for the family clapped back at Cosby. “I’m not surprised that there’s another celebrity jumping on the ‘Osbournes’ bandwagon to get publicity for themselves,” they said.

However, unsurprisingly, Sharon Osbourne, wife of heavy metal legend Ozzy, didn’t let it slide. She decided to write an open letter, which was featured in The Osbournes, tearing apart Cosby.

“I see you have been receiving quite a lot of media attention recently due to your very strong opinions regarding the Osbourne family,” she wrote.

“The Osbournes are a very open and loving family. We don’t live a hypocritical lifestyle, and we don’t judge the ways others live their lives.”

Sharon then decided to poke fun at Cosby, writing, “None of us are perfect, especially you. Maybe someone with your reputation and personal history around Hollywood (nudge nudge, wink wink) should not be commenting on how others live their lives.”

Whilst Sharon didn’t explain what she meant here, people assumed she was talking about Cosby’s dramatic paternity case, in which he admitted to having an affair with a young woman. At the time, he insisted he was not the child’s father, even though he paid her mother $40,000 a year to keep the affair a secret and had set up a trust fund for Autumn, his daughter.

Sharon continued with her brutal letter, showing mock sympathy for the now-convicted sexual abuser.

“How sad for your Mr. Cosby that the only way you could get anyone to pay attention to you is by putting down The Osbournes,” Sharon wrote. “Actually, I think the last time I saw you on TV, you had pudding in your mouth. Maybe that’s the reason why you talk a lot of ****.”

She concluded her letter by sarcastically saying he would be welcome at their home as “your personal reputation does not offend us”.

Reddit users thought Sharon’s response was hilarious, with one person commenting, “Sharon is cold when you get in her crosshairs,” and another adding, “I would never want to get on her bad side, I’m not clever enough.”
