The comment came after President Donald Trump’s meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday

Karoline Leavitt appeared ‘ashen’ and ‘terrified’ after watching the Donald Trump-Vladimir Putin meeting in Alaska, MSNBC host Antonia Hylton claimed.

Hylton spoke with Michael McFaul, a former US ambassador to Russia, on Friday’s summit on Saturday night’s program of MSNBC’s The Weekend: Primetime. As she left Trump’s meeting with the Russian president, Hylton said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, 27, seemed frightened by what she had witnessed “behind closed doors”.

The reporter then criticized Leavitt’s looks, calling her skin gray and pale after going with the president to the crucial summit. “A lot of the press corps that was there, they reported in the minutes and hours after the presser that they saw members of the administration, like Karoline Leavitt, look ashen, almost frightened after what they had seen behind closed doors,” Hylton said.

“What did that indicate to you?” she asked McFaul, who was appointed by former President Barack Obama.

“We should all be glad that we did not go to Alaska,’ McFaul responded, adding that Leavitt’s appearance after the meeting suggests to me that this was a bigger disaster than they’re leading on to.”

Ayman Mohyeldin, Catherine Rampell, and Elize Jordan co-host the MSNBC program with 31-year-old Hylton. On Saturdays and Sundays, it airs from 6 to 9 p.m.

The conversation between the co-hosts followed a meeting between Trump and Putin on Friday in Alaska to talk about Russia’s conflict against Ukraine.

Many people believe that the summit was a huge loss for America, even if Trump says he made “a lot of progress” and that it was a “10 out of 10.” Trump gave in to Putin by taking the Russian stance that talks should focus on a final peace agreement, which is expected to take months or years, rather than a ceasefire.

Additionally, the president withdrew his threats to broaden secondary restrictions on nations who buy oil from Russia and slap harsh new sanctions on the country. Leavitt played cleanup for Trump, who made two false claims that he was getting ready to visit Putin in Russia just days before the summit.

“Perhaps there are plans in the future to travel to Russia and on Friday the president will be meeting with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, in Alaska, as you know,” she said during the White House press briefing on Monday.

But during his news conference, Trump made it clear that he would be visiting Russia: I’m going to see Putin, you know. It was widely believed that Trump had made a verbal blunder when he remarked, “I’m going to Russia on Friday.” Then he repeated it.
