The stars of Good Morning Britain are said to have been left furious about having to bring in their own breakfast to work as ITV budget cuts pulls tight on the purse strings.
The presenters are among the ITV staff who were allegedly told that their new workspace won’t have toasters to make breakfast as the show relocates to the ITN studios.
Susanna Reid is thought to be among the stars of the show who attended a meeting this week where staff were notified the machines are banned due to health and safety.
It’s all part of cost-cutting changes to the production of ITV’s major shows, which also includes Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women, who will move to the BBC Studioworks Television Centre in January before settling at a yet-to-be-announced new studio location.
An insider told The Sun: ‘It is mutiny down at Good Morning Britain HQ.
‘The new offices’ kitchen is in a basement with no windows or natural light, so smoke from a toaster is a serious health hazard.

Good Morning Britain will run for an extra half an hour to reduce Lorraine’s slot from one hour to 30 minutes
‘Everyone will have to start bringing in their Tupperware packed breakfasts.’
The insider added that staff who ‘work the night shift’ at the studios are said to have been left ‘especially cross’ by the decision.
Staff were also said to be left especially ‘bamboozled’ when they found out that while breakfast was banned, a ‘yoga studio was being built on the roof’ of the studio.
Daily Mail contacted ITV for comment.
It’s not the first time that bosses have tried to ban toasters, but ITV were forced to back down when Piers Morgan, then host of GMB, told viewers about the possible changes live on air.
It comes after former Loose Women star, Sherrie Hewson has hit out at ITV bosses for axing weeks of the popular daytime show, branding the decision ‘cruel.’
From January, the programme will only air for 30 weeks of the year instead of running all year round, as part of sweeping budget cuts.
Changing viewing habits, including an increased reliance on streaming services, have forced ITV to make some difficult decisions in a bid to remain profitable and keep some of the UK’s most beloved shows on air.

Sherrie Hewson hit out at ITV bosses for the ‘cruel’ decision to cut down Loose Women epsidoes
Good Morning Britain will now run for an extra half an hour to reduce Lorraine’s slot from one hour to 30 minutes.
Sherrie, 74, who is now part of the cast of Hollyoaks, warned that the move would leave older and vulnerable viewers without the ‘lifeline’ the panel show provides.
The actress, who volunteers in care homes, says she has seen firsthand how much the show means to dementia patients.
Watching Loose Women, she explained, can feel like being part of a conversation and, for some, even provide a reason to live.
She told The Sun on Sunday: ‘Women of all ages, those up to 95 down to younger women at home with young children, it’s like therapy to them.
‘It feels cruel and sad that they’ve decided to cut the episodes on Loose Women which is a show that can bring anger and emotions.’
