Lewis Hamilton has revealed that he endured “a scary few hours” on Wednesday after his cherished bulldog Roscoe required urgent veterinary care.
The seven-time Formula One world champion, who joined Ferrari this season, has often spoken about the special bond he shares with his dog, who is a familiar sight at race weekends.
Roscoe has travelled the globe with Hamilton and even has his own Instagram account, boasting over a million followers.
Hamilton took to social media to post a photograph of Roscoe wrapped in a blanket at a veterinary clinic, asking fans to keep his pet “in their thoughts.”
The update sparked concern among followers, with many offering messages of support.
Roscoe’s health problems have been ongoing for several months. In April, it was revealed that he had been diagnosed with pneumonia.
At the time, Roscoe’s trainer Kirstin McMillian explained that he was receiving strong antibiotics alongside integrative veterinary treatments, including high-dose vitamin C therapy and acupuncture.

Despite the specialist care, Roscoe has not appeared to make a full recovery, and Hamilton’s latest message suggests his condition has worsened.
It remains unclear whether the current scare is linked to the pneumonia.
Hamilton’s focus off the track has coincided with a challenging season for the 40-year-old driver.

His move to Ferrari was one of the most significant storylines of the year, but he has yet to secure a victory for the Scuderia and currently sits sixth in the Drivers’ Championship.
Last weekend in Azerbaijan, Hamilton cut a frustrated figure after qualifying 12th and finishing eighth.
“Yesterday the car was feeling good,” he said after practice in Baku.
“Today there was some direction that we ended up going which on paper looked like the best place for us to be.
“Our pace had been good, we’d been progressing, but we didn’t have the right tyre on at the end and that put me on the back foot.”
Hamilton’s struggles have continued since the summer break.

He was forced to retire from the Dutch Grand Prix before salvaging sixth place at Monza.
The former Mercedes star has been candid about his disappointment but remains determined to help Ferrari close the gap on Red Bull and McLaren as the season heads into its final stretch.
For now, Hamilton’s attention appears to be firmly on Roscoe’s recovery.
The dog has become something of a mascot for his fans, regularly appearing in paddock photos and behind-the-scenes videos.
Hamilton has previously credited Roscoe with helping him stay calm and focused during the pressures of the Formula One season.
Supporters will be hoping for a positive update in the coming days as Hamilton prepares for the next round of the championship.
