Married at First Sight viewers have voiced concerns for an Australian groom after he was left holding back tears in the latest episode.
Series 13 of the hit show has finally landed on UK screens, welcoming 18 hopeful singles from Down Under. The brides and grooms met for the first time at the altar and have now moved in together.
But the journey has already been rough for Mel and Luke, who have only grown more distant at every milestone. Just last night (March 18), Luke left their shared apartment to spend the night away from Mel, after she confessed that he isn’t the most attractive groom in the experiment.
In Thursday’s (March 19) episode, the couple faced yet another dilemma when Luke returned home. Fellow bride Brook discovered that Luke’s sisters had shared “nasty” comments about his wife on social media.

She told producers that his siblings had been “saying some nasty things about Mel online. And I think that’s petty to have your sisters comment rude things online”.
Mel later shared her own reaction to the alleged social media posts, claiming: “There were comments about my personality, there were comments about my character.
“Luke’s sisters left some comments saying that I’ve got a mad resting b***h face. That I’m not genuine, that I don’t deserve someone like Luke.”
Upon his return, Mel told her husband that she was “really hurt” by the brutal social media posts. However, Luke was quick to apologise for his siblings’ words.
He said: “I woke up and I saw those comments. And I want you to know that I’m sorry. I never wanted those comments there and when I saw them there I got really upset because I didn’t say anything about the stuff they had said to them.”

But despite his attempt to smooth things over, Mel interrupted her husband to share her unfiltered thoughts.
“Let me just stop you right there,” she started. “Do you think you were trying hard this week? Because you make my life hell.”
She went on to claim that she felt isolated after Luke abandoned their new home so soon after they moved in. Mel later slammed her husband in a private conversation with the other brides, claiming he has been treating her poorly behind closed doors.
Meanwhile, Luke appeared to be fighting back tears as he told the other grooms that he is struggling to find a connection with Mel.

Fans have since taken to X, formerly Twitter, to voice support for Luke, with some calling for producers to step in. One commented: “The experts need to help Luke like…. #MAFSAU #MAFS.”
A second viewer added: “I actually feel awful for him, I wish he got coupled with someone else, poor lad,” while another agreed: “I feel so sorry for the poor bloke. #MAFSAU.”
Someone else urged the groom to leave the show, stating: “#MAFSAU Luke just go bud. Go now. Don’t waste your breath [..]. Run.”
However, others have suggested that Mel could be “getting the villain edit,” meaning she may be referring to situations that haven’t made it to air.
