I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Shona McGarty has addressed the romance rumours swirling between her and rapper Aitch.

The former EastEnders actress made it to the final of the brutal reality series, finishing in third place after Tom Read Wilson and Angry Ginge.

Aitch, who was one of the early favourites to be crowned King of the Jungle, finished in fourth place, and upon leaving the jungle, dismissed any whispers of a romance, insisting the pair are just good friends.

Shona has now also broken her silence after fans were left convinced of a blossoming romance during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine today (Monday, 8 December).

She said: “I’m like over 10 years older than him! And also, the rumours are rubbish. He’s like my little brother, I’m like his older sister. We just had the same energy level. We were just hyper and silly, and that’s why we got on so well.”

Aitch had earlier said: “Shona’s just a cool person. I feel like me and Shona are just cut from the same cloth in a way. We just have the same sense of humour.

“Obviously, I’ve not watched the show, so I don’t know what’s been put out there in any way – but it was nothing like that.”

Elsewhere on Lorraine, Shona spoke about her experience in the jungle, saying “it has changed my life”. She continued: “It’s done me the world of good, it’s been so nice to not have any distractions, even things like your mobile phone. I haven’t switched it on yet, and I don’t want to.

“I’m just so conscious of being a presenter, and I think it really did help my anxiety. I’m going to go out to the big wide world with my big girl pants on, and I’m going to smile and do what I like and be myself.”

Shona, who had been open about the anxiety she suffers from in emotional camp moments, went on to talk about her next career move after leaving her role as Whitney Dean earlier this year.

She said: “I’ve been singing since I can remember. The first time I ever sang was at school assembly, I think it was some sort of holy song, but singing in the jungle was a highlight for me, and yeah, singing is my therapy, it makes me feel so happy, so I’m never going to stop.”

She added, “I’d like to do a bit of everything. I’d love to do some presenting, and I would love to continue with my music. I’ve got so many songs that I’ve written that I haven’t recorded yet, so I think music is a big one for me.”
