A royal expert believes Meghan Markle’s post of Prince Harry on his birthday was “calculated” and was an “odd” choice.

Meghan Markle uploaded a photo of her husband, Prince Harry, on his birthday, in a move described as “calculated” and an “odd” choice of image, claims a royal expert. The old image uploaded was taken at an RAF flypast at Goodwood Aerodrome in West Sussex, in 2015, and was taken before Meghan had met Harry.

Royal biographer, Ingrid Seward, described Meghan’s potential thoughts behind the photo. She claimed: “I think Meghan chose that photo because it was Harry, what she would say, at his hunkiest. He looked very, sort of, masculine and young and macho, and I think that’s probably how Meghan likes to see him.”

As reported in The Sun, she further questioned: “I do think it’s a bit strange that she didn’t choose one more in line with the time when they met, or maybe even one of them together, but knowing Meghan, everything she does is very carefully thought through.”

On balance, the royal expert claimed it could be to do with Harry’s recent four-day UK trip, followed by a visit to Ukraine which saw him carry out more Invictus duties. Ms Seward thought it was possible Meghan chose this image of Harry in uniform because it was taken during his time in the armed forces.

Meghan captioned the birthday post with four short words: “Oh hi birthday boy.” The expert said it’s “just very Meghan… very American, it’s Californian”.She added: “I mean a lot of people say things like that, but coming from her, it is slightly nauseating, I think. Meghan is an actress, and I don’t think she ever stops acting. I think she is always trying too hard to be relatable. If only she’d take that smile off her face occasionally, and see another expression. It’s lovely to see someone smiling but there’s something quite unnatural about Meghan’s big smile.

“Every photograph she posts is contrived, and I think that is a shame, because we only get to see that one side of her, and it’s not a particularly attractive side.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have both recently appeared in a new trailer for a show celebrating 70 years of Disneyland.

The ABC News show, The Happiest Story on Earth: 70 Years of Disneyland, is set to be released on Sunday.

Harry said in the teaser video: “Space Mountain was one of my favourite things” with Meghan adding, “It’s still one of your favourite rides.”

The family celebrated their daughter, Princess Lilibet’s birthday at the famous theme park in the USA and posted snaps of their trip where Prince Archie also joined in with the family fun.
