Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed on a new film project announced by their production company, Archewell Productions. The couple will serve as executive producers of ‘Cookie Queens’, a new documentary heading to the Sundance Film Festival in 2026.
The festival programme states that the documentary follows “four tenacious girls (who) strive to be a top-selling ‘Cookie Queen’, navigating an 800 million dollar business in which childhood and ambition collide”. Speaking about the new project, Meghan Markle shared a glimpse into her childhood as she recalled being a girl scout herself. She told Deadline: “As a former girl scout myself, with my mum as my troop leader, I have a personal affinity for this film and am proud that all our conversations and collaboration have led to Archewell Productions partnering with this award-winning team to executive produce this incredibly captivating documentary.”
Speaking of the new venture, The Duchess of Sussex added: “When we first viewed the early footage of this documentary, it was immediately something we wanted to be involved in.
“The creative point of view, the edgy yet humanising tone and tenor of the directing, and the glimpse behind-the-scenes into such a nostalgic and also modern tradition of girl scout cookie season are absolutely irresistible.”
‘Cookie Queens’ is set to debut in Sundance’s Family Matinee section, a special showcase for independent films intended for all age groups.
The festival has not yet announced a premiere date, and representatives have not said whether the Duke and Duchess will attend yet.

The Duke and Duchess’s production company, Archewell Productions, has joined forces with Beautiful Stories and AJNA Films for the project, in association with Artemis Rising Foundation and Good Gravy Films.
It has been a busy year for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they navigate new ventures. In early August, Netflix and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they will be continuing to work with each other in a new ‘first-look deal’.
Earlier this month, Netflix released the holiday edition of Meghan’s lifestyle series ‘With Love, Meghan’, which saw Meghan invite a host of friends and celebrity contacts onto the show.
Meghan has also launched her lifestyle business, which was re-named from American Riviera Orchard to As Ever earlier this year.
