Meghan Markle has been told by royal fans that she “should apologise” for not wearing a poppy over Remembrance weekend. On Saturday, The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry stepped out at two events.

Before attending Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the 2025 Baby2Baby Gala. At the gala, and the party afterwards, Prince Harry could be seen wearing a poppy.

However, Meghan, 44, was not wearing one.

While Meghan herself did not address this, a source close to the duchess told the Daily Mail that Meghan was unable to wear a poppy as they are not widely available in the States, unlike in Commonwealth countries.

This is despite the fact she has worn one in years gone by, including since living in America.Meghan received plenty of criticism online for not wearing a poppy over the Remembrance weekend, with Express.co.uk launching a poll on Tuesday asking fans whether they think Meghan should apologise for not wearing one.

The results, gathered on Thursday, showed that 83% of those who did the poll voted yes, agreeing that the duchess should apologise for her lack of a poppy.

A total of 15% believed that Meghan shouldn’t apologise, while 2% were unsure what the duchess should do.

While Meghan didn’t wear a poppy, she did put up a tribute on November 11 for Veterans Day.

Sharing a video of her husband in Afghanistan running off towards action in a TV interview, alongside a recent picture of Prince Harry with a fellow war veteran, the duchess wrote on Instagram: “As my husband says, ‘Once served. Always serving.’

“Thank you to all who served, sacrificed, and continue to serve. Honoring you on Veterans Day. And every day.”
