The MAFS Final Test is over, but the curveballs it’s throwing at the remaining five relationships are not.
From phone number swapping and risky jokes to running away and hiding in the bathroom, all will soon be revealed in a big old twist.
But who’s open and honest without an iPad threatening to expose all?
Gia loves Scott explaining he left the table, but when she tells him about her date, she gets creative.
“I said ‘Back off, I am not a girl who cheats and flirts, I don’t do this,’” she explains, adding she “didn’t flirt with him at all”.
Scott is relieved. For now.
Bring in the iPads!
The brides and grooms separately watch footage of each other at the Final Test, before they then debrief.
And by debrief, I mean argue.
Seeing David leave the task gives Alissa the big ick.
“They are ridiculous,” she commentates.
But she’s about to have bigger problems, because in the next room, David’s watching her excitedly ask “is the grass greener?”, see if her match Conor is willing to show her his butt tattoo, and brag she doesn’t care if David “comes for” her over the task.
To be fair, she doesn’t seem to care that much.
And to think he hid in the bathroom! (Nine)
David tells her he feels disrespected over the task – and how she’s reacting to his concerns now.
He asks if she and Conor exchanged details, but Alissa says no. Unless following each other on Instagram counts?
A frustrated David walks out and in the hallway, he takes off his ring.
Alissa follows him out declaring “I’m done too”, tossing hers at him.
“All I wanted her to do was acknowledge my feelings are valid in this relationship,” he says.
It’s the “lowest of the low”, he reckons, but he’s wrong. At least he’s not the one running out of the building without shoes!
No ring, no shoes – she’s going through it! (Nine)
OK, I need a palate cleanser. Thank god for Rachel and Steven.
There is no ring tossing here, as they both grin watching each other explain to their alternative matches how strong they are together.
Obviously, things are just as smiley in Stella and Filip’s apartment.
There’s clearly not enough interesting footage of Stella entertaining her alternative match to show Filip, so he also gets a fun look at Gia and her match, James.
Love that for him.
He thinks it will be tough for Scott to watch, but little does he know, Scotty’s already dealing with non-iPad-related concerns.
Is there a record for running away from the experiment up for grabs? (Nine)
The night before, Gia said she was leaving the experiment and he agreed to go with her, even though he wants to finish the final few days.
When she learns the truth, she abruptly pulls out of their final on-screen date.
“You need the camera time so bad for the next three days, don’t you?” she mocks as they fight on the street.
Shoutout to the members of the public, who do a great job pretending they are not watching and listening!
Gia gets in a car and leaves but later calls him in the bar they were meant to enjoy together.
Tragic. (Nine)
If he doesn’t agree to leave the experiment with her now, she will go directly to the airport and fly home to Melbourne … which happens, as he again confirms he doesn’t want to.
“OK, all the best Scott,” she says before hanging up.
Then he returns to their apartment and finds her ring on the counter.
Bruuuuuutal. (Nine)
It’s then Bec and Danny’s turn to watch the Final Test footage – yes, that’s still happening! Sorry if all the break-ups made you forget about it!
The video catches Bec in a lie.
She told Danny that Gia’s alternate match James forced her to take his number for Gia, when in fact Bec offered.
In Danny’s mind, that’s encouraging cheating.
Truly stunned to discover the latest Gia x Bec alliance has caused problems. (Nine)
“It’s crazy how these women want to have good husbands, when they’re all shit wives,” he reacts.
Bec’s annoyed that he’s annoyed, which only annoys him even more.
She had issues with him in the video, but didn’t say so to keep the peace.
Interesting tactic. See: a now ringless David!
With Gia gone, how can we perk poor Scotty up?
Well, not with this damn iPad and the ominous horror music, that’s for sure!
He’s the last one to see the damning footage of Gia at the Final Test.
Gia told him James had been forceful in his flirtations, but did not mention her flirting back – and Bec taking his number on her behalf.
“That is f—ing putrid,” he reacts.
He thinks trying to stop him from seeing this is the real reason she wanted him to leave with her.
The tears start flowing as it brings up traumas.
“She just ruined me. This happens to me with everyone – they just use me,” he sobs.
“I give people so much and they just use me because they know I’m too easy. I’m never going to let this happen again.”
OH MY GOD THIS IS AWFUL. (Nine)
Final dates
We’ve had a record number of rings taken off, but there is still hope out there. I promise!
The experiment’s wrapping up, so our two strongest pairs celebrate with one last date.
Rachel and Steven
Steven organises a day out at Luna Park, to bring an actual rollercoaster to his and Rachel’s rollercoaster experiment.
Excuse you! (Nine)
After overhearing her tell his dad about starting a vinyl collection, and knowing she’s a big Swiftie, he’s got her the perfect gift – Taylor Swift’s latest record.
Thoughtful! Sweet! Means she’ll think of him every time she bops to Opalite! He’s bloody nailed it.
Stella and Filip
Filip has arranged a day on the water for him and Stella, where we are blessed with five minutes of proof the experiment can work!
Look at them! (Nine)
“I could never comprehend ‘when you know you know’,” Stella says. “It is a thing. When you know you know.”
She has a gift for Filip: a key to her place.
