PRINCE William has shared a photo of himself with Princess Diana to mark Mother’s Day.

Diana, who died in a car crash in 1997, would been 65-years-old if she had survived.

The incredible photo of Diana with a young Prince William in a field of flowers, was taken at Highgrove in 1984.

In the caption William wrote: “Remembering my mother, today and every day.

“Thinking of all those who are remembering someone they love today. Happy Mother’s Day. W”

It is rare for William to refer to and speak openly about his late mother.

But he attended the unveiling of a statue of Diana at Kensington Palace with warring sibling Harry five years ago for what would have been her 60th birthday.

And had said that his Homewards scheme aiming to end rough sleeping was inspired by his mother who took him to witness him speak to homeless people when he was a child.

In the extraordinary photo – which has never been seen before – Prince William is just two years old.

The photo of Wills and Diana is from the family’s private collection, it is understood.

The royal family also posted a selection of photos on Instagram and X to mark Mother’s Day.

They included a photo of the King and his sister Anne, now the Princess Royal, at Balmoral, Scotland, in 1953 with their mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The family are seated on a garden bench with the Queen’s corgi, Sue, in the background.

The photograph was taken before the births of Charles’ younger brothers, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Edward, now the Duke of Edinburgh.

Other photos were shared of the late Queen with her mother Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and of Camilla with her late mother Rosalind Shand.

The images are accompanied by the message: “Wishing Mothers everywhere, and those who might be missing their Mums today, a restful Mothering Sunday.”

Earlier this week, Prince William proved he’s still completely smitten with wife Catherine, Princess of Wales during a loved-up day out in London ahead of Mother’s Day.

On Thursday crowds at Borough Market were in a frenzy as the Princess of Wales stopped for selfies and handshakes.

But while fans scrambled to meet the royal mum-of-three, William, 43, seemed to have eyes for only one person — Kate.

The royal couple made the surprise visit before heading to Bermondsey for a cheeky pub crawl along the famous Beer Mile.

Kate, 44, looked elegant as ever as she chatted to well-wishers and opened up about cutting back on alcohol after her cancer diagnosis.

Earlier in the day, Kate also appeared to pay a subtle tribute to her late mother-in-law Diana, Princess of Wales.

The Princess wore a pair of Cartier “Trinity” hoop earrings — a style famously loved by Diana.

The glamorous gold hoops are believed to have been a thoughtful gift from William for Kate’s 43rd birthday.

The iconic design was created by Louis Cartier in the 1920s and features three interlocking bands.
