The sudden death, described as ‘harrowing’, has left neighbours shaken.

Forensic detectives have spent days combing through the Banksia Grove home where a woman was allegedly killed by a man known to her on Thursday.

The death of a woman in a Perth home is now being investigated as alleged manslaughter.

A 42-year-old woman was found unresponsive in the residence on Mayali Bend at Banksia Grove in the city’s northeastern suburbs about 9am on Thursday.

Paramedics attempted to save the woman but emergency first aid was unsuccessful, and she was declared dead at the property.

Investigations into the death led to the arrest of a 47-year-old man, who police said was known to the alleged victim.

The 47-year-old man has now been charged with manslaughter.

He is set to appear at Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.

WA Premier Roger Cook last week called the alleged incident “harrowing” and “violent”.

Residents in the suburban street were left shocked by the sudden death, with one neighbour describing the alleged victim as “super nice” and “friendly.

“(She) would always say hello, so, yeah, it was just devastating really,” one resident told 7NEWS.
