A vigil will be held on Friday for a woman found dead alongside her one-year-old baby inside a home in Logan, south of Brisbane.
The bodies of Kate Paterson, 38, and her daughter April were found in a home on Belivah Rd in Belivah on Thursday.
Police made the tragic discovery after a 39-year-old man, believed to have run from the Belivah home, was hit by a car near a supermarket on Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd at Bannockburn earlier that morning.

“The man is receiving medical treatment and will be assisting police with their investigations,” a Queensland Police Service spokesperson said on Thursday night.
“Police do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the community.
“Investigations continue and there is no further information at this time.”
Detective Superintendent Chris Ahearn said police believed the three lived together at the Belivah property.
“We believe the three of these people live in a family unit at that house – child, mother and father,” Superintendent Ahearn said.
The man sustained injuries and is being treated at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Windaroo resident Caroline Bower has organised a community candle-lighting and flower-laying ceremony in honour of Ms Paterson and her daughter.
Scheduled to take place on Friday night at Belivah Rd, Ms Bower said a song would be played, and requested that “everyone observe a moment of silence during the song as a sign of respect and reflection”.
“In times like this, our community stands together. By sharing our grief, supporting one another, and coming together as one, we can begin to find strength and healing,” she said.
“All members of the community are warmly welcome to attend.”

Investigators are working to determine which of his injuries were caused by the accident and which were sustained at the home.
Superintendent Ahearn said there were witness accounts suggesting the man had neck injuries before being struck by the vehicle.
While police have not confirmed the exact cause of the deaths, they say the injuries to the woman and child appear “consistent with an edged weapon”.
7News reports reported Ms Paterson had just returned to teaching following maternity leave.

Residents near the Belivah Rd property reported hearing screaming around the same time.
Gloria Seal, who drove past while heading to work, described seeing the man lying on the ground covered in blood as emergency services attended to him.
“It was very distressing, walking past that was awful,” Ms Seal told The Courier-Mail.
“I saw the black ute on the side of the road. There was one ambulance at the point.
“He was covered in blood. I don’t know what happened to him.”
Police have closed the street as forensic officers continue to examine both the home and the accident scene.
Evidence markers have been placed around the property, and children’s clothes remain on a clothesline at the rear of the home.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Belivah Rd, Belivah, and Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd at Bannockburn between 7am and 8.30am to come forward.
“We’d like them to contact police through Police Link. They may be able to assist us with our investigation,” Superintendent Ahearn said.
Police have yet to confirm the exact time of death.
