He’s just finished a six-month stint as a judge on Strictly as well as the live tour, but now Anton Du Beke could be about to get busier than ever.

I understand that some top TV executives are sniffing around his Buckingham Hotel series of novels, which are ripe for adaptation.

There are eight books in the collection featuring central characters Raymond and Nancy, and they could all be developed into dramas

An insider said: “From Rivals to A Woman Of Substance, there’s a real hunger for dramas developed from old-school novels.

“Although Anton’s were recently penned, they’re very much from a bygone era.

“And of course it also helps that it comes with a sprinkle of glitter courtesy of Strictly too.”

The first in the collection is One Enchanted Evening, written in 2018 when Anton was still a pro dancer and was yet to get the judging job full-time.

But as his responsibilities on the show increased, so did his writing, and he’s released a new book every year since.

The novels are set in a lavish 1930s Mayfair hotel where we’re introduced to dancer Raymond de Guise and chambermaid Nancy Nettleton.

News of the possible adaptation, which is rumoured to be with a streamer, comes after A Woman Of Substance, based on the book by Barbara Taylor Bradford, will air later this month on Channel 4 and the second series of Rivals, by Jilly Cooper, drops on Disney+ in May.

Looks like Anton is in some very good company.

Claudia Winkleman has given The Piano a polish ready for its fourth series, which comes with a twist.

For the first time on the Channel 4 show, the host and her ivory-tinkling pal Mika will be accompanied by a star-studded line-up of five musicians.

I can reveal they are Jools Holland and Jamie Cullum, plus world-renowned pianists Tiffany Poon, Hiromi and Alice Sara Ott.

Composer Jon Batiste will be back too, helping to mentor the pianists.

It will all reach a crescendo on June 9 in a live concert at Birmingham Symphony Hall, which fans can attend.

Tickets go on sale at 10am this Friday at bmusic.co.uk.

After tinkling the ivories, could Claudia’s fingers now be turning green?

She was recently spotted having a lunch meeting with Richard McKerrow, her pal and the co-founder of Love Productions, the company who currently make The Piano.

He’s since left the business but has set up his own venture, Free Productions, who look to be making a new challenge show.

It’s in a similar vein to Love Productions’s other shows – Bake Off, Pottery Throwdown and the Sewing Bee, which Claudia hosted for the BBC before The Piano.
