Baby fighting for life in Western Australia after allegedly being shaken so hard it suffered critical head injuries
A baby is fighting for life after a man allegedly shook the infant so violently it suffered critical head injuries.
Emergency services were called to a home in Two Rocks, north of Perth, last Thursday morning, where they found the 11-month-old baby in a critical condition.
Police allege that a male relative shook the baby, causing them life-threatening injuries.
The baby was rushed to Joondalup Health Campus and was later transferred to Perth Children’s Hospital, where they remain in a critical condition.
The man was charged with the serious offence on Friday, appeared in court the same day and was remanded in custody.
He was granted bail during a hearing in Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
