Fox News host Greg Gutfeld has set the late-night world ablaze with a fiery monologue that mixed praise, mockery, and political jabs — all while announcing his upcoming appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

On the August 3rd episode of Gutfeld!, the controversial host didn’t hold back. With Stephen Colbert’s Late Show officially cancelled, Gutfeld fired off what sounded more like a eulogy-turned-roast for his liberal counterpart — and a full-on endorsement of Fallon.
“While Colbert interviews a loser,” Gutfeld smirked, “Jimmy Fallon invites a winner.”
The “loser” in question? Kamala Harris, whose recent interview with Colbert sparked backlash after she dodged tough questions about President Biden’s disastrous 2024 debate performance.
A Rare Praise for Fallon — and a Warning Shot at the Left
Gutfeld had nothing but applause for Fallon, calling him “a genuine guy who actually wants to make people laugh — not lecture them.” He threw a grenade at the rest of the late-night field, adding:
“Fallon doesn’t want to make you go to bed angrier than The View at a salad bar.”
He even lauded Fallon’s infamous 2016 Trump interview — the one that led to Fallon being canceled by left-wing media for “humanizing” Trump by playfully ruffling his hair.
“The angry mob wanted a brutal takedown, but Jimmy did something dangerous: he had fun,” Gutfeld said. “To the liberal hive mind, that’s criminal.”
He took it a step further — accusing the media of sending a message:
“If you humanize Hitler, we’ll dehumanize you.”
Colbert’s Cancellation: Coincidence or Consequence?

While no official reason has been given for the cancellation of The Late Show, rumors are swirling — and Gutfeld wasn’t shy about connecting the dots.
The end came just days after Colbert made a brutal jab at Paramount and Trump, criticizing the $16 million legal settlement paid over a lawsuit involving a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris.
“This kind of financial settlement with a government official?” Colbert said on air. “It’s called a big, fat bribe.”
Days later — poof. The show was gone.
Coincidence? Gutfeld doesn’t think so.
A Shifting Late-Night Landscape
In the world of political late-night television, Gutfeld has long been considered the odd man out — the only conservative voice in a sea of liberal comedians. But now, with Colbert gone and Fallon stepping into a more bipartisan light, the balance may be shifting.
“Things are changing,” Gutfeld told his viewers. “Maybe we can finally laugh with each other again — even if we disagree.”
The announcement of his Tonight Show appearance sent ripples across social media. Some fans cheered Fallon for the bold booking. Others accused him of “platforming a Fox News mouthpiece.”
Still, Fallon has weathered this storm before — and if Gutfeld’s appearance goes viral, the NBC host might just reclaim some of the swagger he lost after 2016.
What’s Next? A Gutfeld–Fallon Bromance?
One thing is clear: Gutfeld isn’t just showing up to play nice.
“I’m bringing chaos — and probably bourbon,” he laughed.
While Colbert’s legacy is debated and Fallon tries to tread carefully in a divided America, Greg Gutfeld is barreling forward — equal parts showman, satirist, and sledgehammer.
